After nearly 3 years of officially operating the steel billet production line, Cao Bang Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company – Vinacomin has focused on researching many technical improvement solutions, and investing in synchronous production lines to increase Product value, improve competitiveness.
The company has a total capacity of 220,000 tons of steel billets/year, output in 2017 reaches 213,703 tons of steel billets. The company’s main products are steel billets with steel codes according to TCVN (including 3 main types: ordinary carbon structural steel, quality carbon structural steel, and low alloy structural steel). These products have the same quality as steel brands according to the standards of the countries in the world. In particular, the ST5ps steel code produced according to the GOST380-2005 standard of Russia was selected by TKV to use exclusively for anti-furnace.
Cao Bang Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company – Vinacomin often promotes the movement to promote innovation, technical improvement, find solutions to rationalize production to improve productivity, quality and production, and business efficiency, contributing to reducing costs, lowering production costs at all stages of production, enterprise management costs. This work is implemented in all production workshops.
In the mining work, the Company directs to strictly implement the technical management process; implementing selective exploitation right at the field to classify ore quality, limiting mass sorting, causing great waste and waste; focus on selective exploitation of iron ore with a content of over 58% to grind into ore suitable for direct transport to the Complex.
The mineral sorting stage is installed with additional equipment suitable for the characteristics of ore screening and screening; adjust the technology process to change the structure of ore output products, focus on small-sized ore production. Specifically, the factory has installed a system of recruiting from dry ore to recover magnetite ore from poor ores to increase the ore output in the appropriate way (0-8) mm, (8 – 38) mm and install additional vertical shaft crusher suitable ore to increase the rate of ore (0 – 8) mm in order to meet the material for the Complex. After 2 months of installing additional equipment, the increase in small-sized ore production has saved the company more than VND 10 billion.
In sintering, in order to improve the iron content in sintered ores, reduce SiO2, the company has increased the use of refined ore, limonite ore, and high-grade bran ore. In addition, the company uses Ventury sludge for mixing system 1, calculating and mixing dust to contribute to increasing the efficiency of processing semi-finished products of the chain, increasing actual revenue, reducing the burden of environmental treatment. With the desire to improve the rate of using sintered ores into blast furnaces, limit to not use the living capacities at blast furnaces, raise the furnace top pressure to increase output, reduce coking coal consumption; Sintering workshop with more than 100 officers has innovated initiatives such as:
(1) solutions to renovate 2-story cooling conveyor valves, (2) improve coal gas pipelines on heating and furnace systems Filtering cloth bags, making troughs and containers for mixing system, (3) Designing a “Recovering system of Ventury sludge for steel refining into mixing I sintering”.
At the cast iron stage: Measures are applied such as ore neutralization, sintering, slag casting, using anthracite coal, coking coal in iron and steel production, using porous iron to cool in production… to enhance the use of many average hot winds over 1.1500C, make use of all kinds of cast iron, steel, iron, steel slag using cooling materials for the converter. These initiatives have saved the company more than 10 billion VND.
