Implementing the TPM program supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Bac Viet Technology Joint Stock Company has conducted seminars to find out the waste and losses in the production process and decide to implement the experimental improvement projects focusing point on mold making workshop area.

In order to make improvements to the mold making area, workshop members including the operator, workshop foreman and support departments such as QC, system manager and administration all arrange time for attendance. participate fully in group working sessions to jointly identify opportunities to improve, analyze and find solutions to outstanding problems. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the company, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thong – Vice Director of the factory supported the orientation of the goals and together with the team to identify the improvement topics in the coming time: “Reduce the time to prepare tools , tools for production at S33, S56.”

With the characteristics of mold manufacturing is single production, many products are not repeated in the working process, so the time to prepare tools and tools accounts for a significant proportion of the total downtime. The team reassessed the collected production data with 1000 times preparing the tool and tool to learn specific steps together, conducted video manipulation analysis and discussed opportunities for improvement. At the end of the analysis, the group agreed on some solutions as follows:

  • Switches the tool preparation operation when the machine stops to execution while the machine is machining the part first
  • Implement 5S to arrange, rearrange fixtures, measuring tools
  • Create stage tags to manage and easily find shared items

From working on the group, it is expected to reduce the time to prepare tools and tools for the S33 and S56 from 29-74 minutes to 16-33 minutes and the number of steps will be reduced from 9 steps to 5 steps.

In the next time, the group will actually implement the agreed solutions and monitor and measure improvement effectiveness, compare with the set target. When the test results are stable, the team works with the company’s ISO department to revise relevant standards and guidance and conduct internal training of innovative results and solutions for all employees. molding factory operations.
