Bac Ninh: Focus on supporting businesses to improve productivity

Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade is continuing to select businesses that are eligible to participate in the Enterprise Improvement Program to improve production capacity and reach the production chain of multinational corporations in the province.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chin – Deputy Director of Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade, supporting businesses to improve production is an activity which is implemented by Bac Ninh province for many years and has achieved initial results. In 2017, 2018, the Department collaborated with Samsung Group to implement improving activities for 10 businesses, of which, 7 businesses have become suppliers of components for Samsung. Chau Thai Son Printing & Packaging Co., Ltd (Que Vo Industrial Park, Que Vo District), after participating in the Enterprise Improvement Program, has overcome some errors in production such as: The rate of printing errors in wrong color reduced from 6% to 0%, wrong market printing errors reduced from 0.83% to 0%; labor productivity increased from 600 products/hour to 700 products/hour; inventory decreased by 26%. The company has now become the second-tier supplier of Samsung Display Vietnam and Samsung SDI Vietnam with the supply volume quantity up to 20% of production.

Similarly, Bac Viet Technology Joint Stock Company (Que Vo district) is also the second-tier supplier of Samsung Electronics Vietnam and Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen in the field of manufacturing precision molds and electronic plastic components. 12 weeks of consulting program has helped businesses achieve significant improvement results, from production process, product quality to inventory management. In particular, the enterprise has successfully built up a system of chronic error improvement, helping to measure and analyze errors in order to make timely improvements and prevention policies. “In 2019, Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade continues to select and support the improvement of some businesses to be able to participate in the production of ancillary industrial products; At the same time, participating in the production chain of multinational corporations, especially Samsung Group in Bac Ninh”- Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chin emphasized.

In addition to improving business contents, Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade also prioritizes to support village businesses to improve production capacity of traditional products for tourists. The reason is that industrial and handicraft establishments in the province are not capable of capital and technology to produce products that can compete with foreign-invested enterprises. Therefore, the development of traditional products associated with tourism is the right step for craft village businesses.

In order to help Bac Ninh better implement the Program to support production improvement enterprises, the representative of Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade proposed: Ministry of Industry and Trade to support rural industrial enterprises to participate in trade fairs to continue approaching market trends, expanding trade cooperation opportunities. Building a link center to connect strongly between domestic and foreign invested enterprises in production to create global value chains.
