Bac Giang Power Company is a typical unit in the whole province successfully applying 5S. In early 2016, the Company organized a pilot deployment of 5S model at Bac Giang City Electricity. With the spirit of “One person finished 5S immediately”, all officials, employees, employees of the unit began to screen and eliminate unnecessary things; arrange supplies, files, books, equipment, etc in a neat, scientific way.

From this result, in 2018, Department of Science and Technology (S&T) supported VND 40 million to replicate the application of 5S tools to all officials and employees at Bac Giang Power Company and electricity. force of 9 remaining districts. Up to now, after more than 3 years of implementing 5S, the whole system of the Company has reduced billions of dong from savings on equipment purchases; equipment; enhanced management capacity, etc increased the effective working time to about 10% compared to before.
Similarly, Viet Pan Pacific Co., Ltd. (Bac Giang City) has successfully applied 5S management model in production process for over 2 years. The face of the Company has changed significantly. It is known that the unit has applied ISO 9001:2008 system to the production line. However, ISO does not require a working environment, while the characteristics of the garment industry are dusty and metal objects are easy to cause pollution and labor accidents. Overcoming this limitation, in 2017, the unit applied 5S more. Ms. Le Thi Hanh, Chairman of Trade Union and Company Manager said: “5S helps the leadership team, workers and workers all have the self-cleaning, tidy and clean working place. Workers often stow metal tools into a box; keep work areas and equipment sanitary; really seriously wear a mask. The air of the workshops is cleaner. The proportion of workers infected with diseases and occupational accidents has decreased, and machinery is less broken ”.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Thuong, in the coming time, the units need to focus on propagating to raise awareness for officials and workers who understand the 5S benefits; at the same time invest in upgrading infrastructure; regularly check and evaluate the results of implementing 5S tools; promptly overcome inappropriate factors. On the functional side, the Department will prioritize funding for typical businesses; at the same time, strengthening the information of support policies for units to access preferential capital sources when applying 5S. Striving to 2020, about 30% of enterprises in the province will successfully apply 5S.
