Australia assists Vietnam in measuring the contribution of technology to GDP growth

The Australian Government has just announced the research support “Technological change in Vietnam – How technology contributes to productivity and economic growth” within the framework of the Aus4Innovation program.

This research will be conducted in 2020 through a partnership between Data61, Australia’s leading digital research organization under under the CSIRO (Australian Organization for Scientific and Industrial Research) and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Once completed, this A $ 500,000 study will provide models to assess the impact of research and technology application on productivity and GDP growth in Vietnam.

The study was conducted this time based on recommendations from the report “Future of Vietnam’s digital economy to 2030 and 2045” published in 2019 also sponsored by the Australian Government. This research is funded through Aus4Innovation, a four-year cooperation program (2018-2022) with a total budget of AU $ 11 million to reinforce its innovation system and prepare for Vietnam’s digital future.
