Applying ISO 31000:2018: Lessons learned from WE CONSTRUCTION

ISO 31000:2018 is adopted by the Tay Dong Industrial Construction Joint stock Company (WE Construction) in the manufacturing and installation of steel structures; Fabrication and installation of industrial equipment in the field of environmental quality and occupational health and safety. Since the adoption of ISO 31000:2018 helped WE Construction limited to 90% risk.

Mr. Nguyen Vinh-deputy general director of the company said the construction and adoption of the ISO 31000:2018 risk management system in the field of fabrication and installation of steel structures; Fabrication and installation of industrial equipment in relation to the risk control of quality, environment, occupational safety and Health have brought certain effects.

In particular, 100% of employees in the company capture the risks associated with their operations and have proposed solutions to control. According to statistics, after 5 months of applying the system more than 90% of the risk has been controlled, 10% of the risk at a lower level is reviewed by the company, ensuring in the safe zone.

“Our company has experience in adopting the system, is regularly appreciated by partners and customers, so staff has a good system approach, not be surprised in the process of working. And above all, to get the results as today, we also receive support from the productivity experts of the Information Center-standard media measurement quality according to the National Quality Productivity Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology”, Mr.Vinh said.

Mr. Vinh also said that WE Construction has also adopted the quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. So, when applying ISO 31000:2018, the company has not been unsurprised and effective from the start.

With the implementation of the ISO 31000:2018 risk management system, WE Construction has drawn lessons of experience and encountered certain difficulties such as integrating many systems that also make it difficult for employees to access and evaluate the respective standards.

In addition, the ISO 31000:2018 standard has a very wide range of application so the selection of ranges to suit the human condition of the first step is also difficult. However, the company has overcome and current difficulties are gradually disappearing.

WE Construction was established on Dec 05, 2014, headquartered at No.148, Nguyen Gia Thieu, Suoi Hoa ward, Bac Ninh Province. Company moved to Lot CN2-2, Que Vo industrial zone 3, Viet Hung commune, Que Vo District, Bac Ninh Province to conform to the scale and orientation development in 2007.

The organization consists of 05 departments and teams making, installing the works. The company has invested in completing the infrastructure system for manufacturing and fabrication and installation of structural steel and industrial machinery equipment, serving for the industries across the country.
