Application of Software of measurement data collection to improve business quality

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has been profoundly affecting every sectors and every areas of life. In-line with this trend, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), led by the Electricity of Telecommunications and Information Technology Company (EVNICT) designed and built the measurement data collection software (EVN HES) to meet the requirements for electronic meter data collection in Vietnam Electricity.

The Principles that “products are combined with digital technology”

The software is designed on the principle that all products are combined with digital technology to add value, created based on analysis and aggregation of data on user needs, requiring the connection and data exchange. ENV-HES software is built on modern technology, with the function of reading electronic meters: setting up a list of measuring points, reading electronic meter data, analyzing and processing data, monitoring and receiving data collection.

In particular, EVN-HES is the first system in Vietnam that can connect to all equipment systems on EVN’s electricity network. In the past, EVN used 5-6 independent systems to manage devices using different technologies, which made the management and operation complicated. With EVN-HES, integrating all technologies and software systems to create a uniformly applied management tool throughout EVN, in order to modernize management and improve operating efficiency through the application of Information Technology.

 Function of tracking, collecting and processing data information, integrating other software

The software provides a full range of management tools, tracking functions, automatic data collection and processing information on the electrical network. The system allows connecting and integrating with MDMS software, EVN, CMIS, PMIS metering data warehouse to integrate measurement data used in invoice calculation, grid information construction, research transmission line load.

As part of the information technology development strategy serving EVN’s needs, electronic meter data collection system is one of the typical IoT data collection platforms for knowledge and technology in Continuing to develop similar data collection technologies in the future. The software has been applied in 6 member units of EVN including: Ha Noi Power Corporation, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, Northern Power Corporation, Southern Power Corporation, Central Power Corporation, National Power Transmission Corporation and 4 Power transmission companies (1, 2, 3, 4) with an amount of 1 million measuring points. It is expected that from 2020 to 2022, EVN-HES will be deployed at 25 million measurement points throughout the EVN network.

Tới nay, nhân viên ngành điện không còn mất thời gian ghi số điện ở từng công tơ, khắc phục được việc mất thời gian cập nhật số liệu, ghi sai chỉ số điện do nhầm lẫn hay việc ghi chỉ số tạm tính thiếu chính xác đối với các hộ dân vắng nhà…. Phần mềm thu thập dữ liệu đo đếm đã mang lại rất nhiều tiện ích cho Tập đoàn EVN, góp phần nâng cao tính chuyên nghiệp trong quản lý ngành điện và  nâng cao chất lượng kinh doanh của ngành điện nói riêng.

Reduce wastes and losses in the process

Up to now, electricity workers no longer have to waste time recording the electricity numbers at each meter, overcoming the time lost in updating data, erroneous recording of electricity numbers due to confusion or inaccurate calculation of provisional numbers when households wasn’t home…. Metering data collection software has brought a lot of utilities to EVN, contributing to improving the professionalism in electricity industry management and improving the business quality of the electricity industry in particular.
