Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology that uses radio waves to automatically identify and track identification tags attached to objects. Currently, this technology is being integrated into large warehouses management systems by many large organizations or used to replace Kanban cards, helping managers to control the flow of produ15cts more effectively.
A device or an RFID system is made up of two main components: a reader and an RFID device with a chip or tag. The reader is fitted with an antenna to receive and receive electromagnetic signals, and an RFID tag transmitter attached to the object to be identified, each RFID tag device contains a certain code and does not overlap.
When the RFID tag in the working area senses this electromagnetic wave and receives the energy from it, it transmits it back to the RFID Reader device. From there, the RFID reader knows which tags are in the active area.
RFID chip tags (tags) contain a lot of different identification codes, usually 32bit corresponding to more than 4 billion different codes. In addition, when released, each RFID chip is assigned a different code. Therefore, when an object is attached with an RFID chip, the ability to identify the object with another RFID chip tag is very low, the probability is 1 in 4 billion. With such technological advantages, the security and safety of devices applying RFID technology are very high.
Besides reliability, the superiority of this technology is also shown in the ability to read information across environments, materials such as concrete, paint, snow, ice, etc and challenging environmental conditions. otherwise, barcodes and other technologies cannot work effectively. This has significantly promoted the potential of RFID technology in supporting product flow management, such as:
With the increasing demand for automation in management and distribution activities, RFID technology is gradually asserting its role in this field and aiming to integrate with many other smart systems in the future.
