Recently, the Electricity Corporation of Ho Chi Minh City (EVN-HCMC) has collaborated with the research institute Uniten R&D of the Electric Power company TNB (Malaysia) to deploy the application method of maintenance of the CBM distribution grid. EVN-HCMC is also the pioneer of the Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) in the integration of 4.0 technologies to improve productivity and business efficiency.
At the Symposium “Repair of power maintenance, the grid in the direction of advancement (CBM/RCM)” held by the Vietnam Electricity Force Group on 28/05/2020, the report on the performance of Phase 1 of the CBM Application project by EVN-HCMC has reflected the initial effectiveness of applying CBM in the prevention of incidents, helping to and detect before the abnormal condition of the device.
Repair over time is currently a traditional maintenance method that is applied to all engineering blocks of EVN-HCMC. However, this method also has many limitations on the “periodic” factor, which has not yet been binding on the actual condition that the device is under maintenance. This leads to waste of time, maintenance costs for those devices that still have a good operational state, or are being dynamically in the resource layout if detecting unusual signs of equipment.
CBM Technology-maintenance repairs when needed are designed that will include being able to diagnose the current equipment status, testing advanced equipment to give the value of health indicators of the equipment, thereby making repair decisions and the timing of proper execution. The application of advanced maintenance methods according to the CBM method will contribute to improve the reliability of power supply as well as optimize the use of capital. With the development of science and technology, CBM has been applied by advanced power companies in many countries in the world.
Some device issues that were discovered after applying the CBM in maintenance management were all held immediately by the corporation to re-establish the safe operation, which was not pending due to periodic maintenance of the repairs:
-Ben Thanh 110kV station, unusual high temperature detection at the Cosse phase B MBT T2. Intensive examination detects the exposed liquid between porcelain and conductors.
-Saigon South 110kV Station 1, after scoring the CHI (the health index of the device-Condition Health Index), determine the MBT T1 need to operate split immediately for intensive inspection. The test results noted the point of contact between the soft copper wire connection with the rigid copper rod of the medium coil MBT with abnormal signs of internal discharge, which arise heat and gas in the oil.
-The 110kV racecourse and Linh Trung 2 stations, detecting unusually high MBT test values compared to periodic testing 2018. Conducting an in-depth examination detected the point of contact between porcelain and MBT Cosse.
To date, EVNHCMC has completed the training of human resources, performing the procurement of diagnostic equipment, finishing the software automatic calculation of the health indicators of the devices, to implement widely applied maintenance repair method According to the CBM method on the city’s distribution grid right in 2020.
