A bright example of innovation at Masan Tungsten Company

Engineer Nguyen Viet Cuong working in the production team of Masan Tungsten Company is the author of a series of technical innovation initiatives that have benefited the Company more than VND 10 billion.

The innovation movement launched by the Company Union is the incubator for the creativity of Masan Tungsten employees. With the spirit of actively searching and learning, Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong has contributed many ideas to improve the efficiency of the production line, improve labor productivity and significantly save incurred costs.

A typical example is the initiative “Recycling method of Refined residue 2”. After the initiative is applied, all generated waste is recycled 100%, the amount of Tungsten in the residue is recovered up to 75%. Especially the recycling cost is very low, the operation is simple and requires very little labor. Thereby, this recycling initiative has saved the company 4 billion / year. In addition, the recycling of the waste helps the company to save significantly on transportation costs and storage space.

Also on the topic of recycling, Mr. Cuong launched the initiative “to minimize the amount of waste in the spiral dryer” to help reduce 80% of the waste, bring the waste back to finished products, and reduce costs human resources and reducing the amount of chemicals consumed at the recycling stage, bringing economic value up to VND 3.5 billion.

Another initiative of Mr. Cuong with the name: “Optimizing the amount of caustic soda consumed in the crushing and pressing process” has brought economic efficiency to the company up to about 3 billion VND / year. Realizing that the consumption of caustic soda always exceeds the budget target, leading to an increase in production costs, waste of chemicals and an increase in the amount of residue in the residue in the environment. Therefore, Mr. Cuong has set up the calculation formula in the waste crushing and filtering application. Thanks to that, the company has minimized the amount of caustic soda lost in the process.

Sharing about the reason for becoming the author of so many initiatives, Mr. Cuong said: “My jobs, as well as my initiatives come from the reality that in the working process, in production, every worker can be aware of. However, in order to get those results, it is the process of research, tinkering and experience, etc. With the achievements I have achieved, I personally learn from experience that Learning must go with practice, always. passion and creativity at work.”

For both mental and economic contributions to Masan Company, Cuong was honored as one of the most outstanding employees,  awarded the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Certificate of Creative Labor and the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for good production and labor.
