77 businesses win the National Quality Award and the International Asia-Pacific Quality Award honoured

On the morning of April 22, at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Defense, the 2017 National Quality Award and International Asia-Pacific Quality Awards (GEPA) was taken place. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended the award ceremony.

The National Quality Award is the only quality award to honor businesses awarded by the Prime Minister and included in the Asia-Pacific International Quality Award system. The award is organized annually by the Ministry of Science and Technology to honor enterprises that have achieved outstanding achievements in improving quality, products, services, competitiveness and operational efficiency, integrating with regional and world economies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh highly appreciated the role and importance of the award and affirmed that the award-winning enterprises are those that have built the quality culture in the enterprises’ operation. They also are typical of successful application of management systems, innovative tools, outstanding production and business results and positive contributions to the community and society.

Minister Chu Ngoc Anh said that in order for the National Quality Award to contribute more to the productivity-quality movement, it is necessary for enterprises to approach the Prize as a management criteria set with international standards to comprehensively improve activities, improve competitiveness. This is the added value brought by the National Quality Award and is also a way to attract more businesses to participate in and apply tools to improve their product quality and competitiveness.

Referring to the globalization trend and the fourth wave of Industrial Revolution, Minister Chu Ngoc Anh said that Vietnamese enterprises need to actively implement solutions in technology and product innovation, enhance the application of advanced quality management systems and tools to improve product and goods quality, reduce defective costs, thereby improve labor productivity and competitiveness. The Government will create a foundation to support businesses through building and implementing policies and programs on quality productivity, technology transfer, technological innovation, develop and exploit intellectual property, etc.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the National Quality Award in 2017 to 73 businesses and awarded the Asia – Pacific International Quality Award to 4 businesses.

In particular, the 2017 National Quality Gold Award was awarded to the 15 most excellent enterprises: Binh Minh Plastic Joint Stock Company; Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical – Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company (BIDIPHAR); FICO Tay Ninh Cement Joint Stock Company; Tan A Manufacturing and Trading Company Limited; Duc Hanh Marphavet Group Joint Stock Company; Thinh Phat Real Estate and Cables Joint Stock Company; IMEXPHARM Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company; Luong Quoi Coconut Processing Co., Ltd; Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade; Long An Machinery Manufacturing Joint Stock Company; Nghe An Agricultural Materials and Food Joint Stock Company; Tra Bac Joint Stock Company; Euroha Joint Stock Company; Cat Hai Join-Stock Aquatic Processing & Services; Da Lan Joint Stock Company.

The 2017 National Quality Silver Award is awarded to 58 enterprises, including 11 large manufacturing enterprises, 1 large service enterprise, 35 small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, 11 small and medium service enterprises.

4 businesses awarded the Asia-Pacific International Quality Award in 2017 include: Ton Dong A Joint Stock Company; Khanh Hoa Salanganes’ nest Company limited; Viet Duc Steel Production Joint Stock Company; Long Hau Joint Stock Company.
