5S3D tool and PRO-3M concept

5S started from Japan and has been widely applied not only in Japan but also in many countries around the world. This is the basic principle to maintain the image of the workplace, which is the foundation of improvement activities in business and production. The results of 5S implementation will contribute to the success and development of businesses: creating a safe working environment, reducing waste, increasing productivity, improving work efficiency, minimizing errors, improving customer satisfaction; improve the capacity and the dynamism of employees.

PRO-3M concept?

After Samsung Group invested factories in Vietnam, some of Samsung’s standard manufacturing concepts were gradually defined, including PRO-3M. So what is PRO-3M and how does it play a role in the production of Samsung Group?

Pro-3M is activities that all employees participate in order to increase production competitiveness and flexibility of machinery and equipment systems with maximum efficiency, building a comfortable working environment, increasing professionalism by standards ( Rules, Processes and Ownership to 3M (My Machine, My Job, My Area).

The implementation of Pro-3M is essential, building a comfortable and efficient production environment for Samsung factories or Vendors directly to Samsung. Promote competition among factories, conveying SPS ideology and philosophy (Manufacturing keep up with product sales)

Through Pro-3M training, Samsung has equipped the background knowledge about the working environment and convenient workers in the production stages. Everyone has a complete understanding of systems and equipment. Increasing the efficiency of the maximum capacity of the machine when operating, adhere to the workflow. Improve competitiveness between enterprises with production.

 Steps of Samsung Pro-3M

Step 0: Create a basic working environment: through 5S3R activities performed from the main gate to the entire plant, creating a clean and airy environment.

Step 1: Meet the standards of machine to reduce losses: Meet the operating standards of the machine to maximize the features of the device.

Step 2: Create a high-performance factory: An operation step to create a high-performance factory, when the breakdown of machinery and equipment occurs, it must be repaired promptly and maintained regularly.

Step 3: Making standards for implementation, maintaining management: A step to maintain the development of activities from Step 0 – Step 2 throughout the factory, standardize activities and implement continuously.

With the request from Samsung Electronics, the companies which supply products and/or components to Samsung have complied with PRO-3M regulations, thereby gradually spreading the concept to the manufacturing business community in Vietnam.
