Viet Thang Jean Co., Ltd (VITAJEANS) operates in the field of manufacturing and supplying Denim and Non-denim fashion items to the US, EU and Japan markets. VITAJEAN Co., Ltd. has made very successful steps in creating a brand image and a well-known name of the fashion export industry in the international market. Currently, the EU’s export value each year is maintained at 20 million USD.
According to Mr. Pham Van Viet – General Director of Viet Thang Jean Company: “In order to have this result, I think that machinery is only a part, it is important for business owners to be assertive in changing to adapt apply technology to difficult stages, reduce labor use, improve productivity and product value. Because only when Vietnamese enterprises really make efforts to improve technology and eliminate toxic materials can accelerate into the EU”.
Mr. Viet also shared some effects when changing technology: “Since the application of new technology, there has been a clear effect in eliminating errors, raising the average growth rate to 10%. For example, installing new conveyors alone has increased productivity by 30%. Currently, businesses are using laser technology of Spain, the ozone treatment technology of Italy and wash technology of Germany are very environmentally friendly. When using equipment technology from Europe to ensure environmental issues, Viet Thang Jean’s products are exported to Europe with prices 30% higher”.
Currently, the latest of Viet Tan Jean’s 3 factories has been improved to automate most of the processes from the wash, laser processing, ruffling on jean products. A washing machine replaces 36 people/shift and we use 5S, laser technology to increase the accuracy, aesthetics of the edges, images of denim clothes. At the sewing stage, the stitch often takes the most labor, has also been improved automation.
Previously, to produce 10,000 products a day, a factory like Viet Thang Jean needed about 2,500 workers but currently there are only 800 workers. This factor of automated production technology also helps to double their labor productivity. Previously, a chain of 53 people produced 1,200 products/day. Currently 2,400 products/day.
To be able to change from thinking to action textile enterprises will face many difficulties and challenges. However, with the experience from Viet Thang Jean, Mr. Viet emphasized: Every Vietnamese enterprise must make efforts to improve technology and eliminate toxic materials in order to accelerate exports to the EU.
